Why Victorian Tiles Deserve Restoration
Victorian tiled floors are often hidden beneath layers of carpet, vinyl, wood, or modern tiles — overlooked for years until rediscovered. When revealed, these period features can become stunning focal points, rich in heritage and character. Their intricate patterns and durable clay construction make them both visually striking and hardwearing.
However, decades of covering and neglect often leave them stained, loose, or damaged. Restoring these floors not only enhances their appearance but also preserves an important piece of architectural history.
Our Victorian Tile Restoration Approach
We specialise in uncovering, cleaning, and restoring original Victorian tiles with the care and precision they deserve. Whether the floor is partially intact or heavily damaged, we assess its condition and develop a restoration plan suited to its age and layout.
Our team uses gentle yet effective cleaning techniques to remove years of grime, followed by professional repairs to fix cracked, missing, or loose tiles. The finished result is a revitalised floor that blends historic charm with lasting durability — ready to shine once more as the centrepiece of your space.
We had always loved the idea of restoring the Victorian floor in our hallway, but weren’t sure it was possible. Ian proved that it absolutely was.
He worked carefully, sourced a few replacement tiles, and polished the entire space until it gleamed. Now it feels like the heart of the house. I’d recommend him to anyone.
